250 grams of pasta (any type you prefer)
400 grams of peeled and cleaned shrimp
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup heavy cream or crushed tomatoes
Salt and black pepper to taste
Juice of one lemon
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the pasta: Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
Cook the shrimp: In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, then add the garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and are fully cooked, about 3-5 minutes.
Prepare the sauce: Add the heavy cream or crushed tomatoes to the shrimp and stir well. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Combine the pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss it with the shrimp and sauce until the pasta is well coated. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
