Mastering the Art of Kofta A Delicious journey fun fact



All right folks,
today I'm going to show you how to make perfect kafta

every single Kafta, for those who haven't had the

pleasure, are delicious meat balls or popular in Middle

Eastern and South Asian cuisine.

They're packed with flavor, super satisfying and

surprisingly easy to make at Ready to dive in?

Let's get started.

First you'll need some ground meat.

Traditionally, lamb or beef is used,but you can totally mix it

up with chicken or turkey too.

I'm going with a pound of ground lamb today.

Dop that into a big mixing bowl.

Next up, the spice blend.

This is where the magic happens.

You'll need teaspoon of ground cumin,teaspoon of ground

coriander, half teaspoon of ground cinnamon,and half

teaspoon of ground all spice.

Don't forget a pinch of cayen

if you like a bit of heat.

Toss all those spices into the bowl with the meat.

Now add half finely chopped onion,two minced garlic

cloves and a handful of fresh chopped parsley and

cilantro.
These fresh herbs are going to brighten up the flavor.

Crack in.

egg to help bind everything together and season with salt

and pepper all right, roll up those sleeves because it's

time to get your hands dirty.

mix everything together until it's really well combined.

you want all those spices and herbs evenly distributed

throughout the meat.

once that's done, start shaping your kofta.

you can make them into balls,patties or even long sausage

shapes if you're planning to grill them.

i'm making patties because they're great for frying

up.speaking of frying, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil

in a large skillet,over medium high heat.

Once the oil is shimmering, add your cough to patties.

Cook them for about four, five minutes on each side,until

they're nicely browned and cooked through.

If you're grilling, it's about the same four, five minutes per side over medium heat.

While those are cooking, let's talk sauce.

A simple yogurt sauce pairs perfectly with kafta.

Mix cup of plain yogurt with tablespoon of lemon juice,a

minced garlic clove, and a pinch of salt.

For a little extra zing, add some chopped fresh mint or dim.
And there you have it, perfect Kafta every time.

Serve them up with your yogurt sauce, some warm peeta

bread, and a fresh salad,and you've got yourself meal

that's sure to impress.
